Moses Said Another Prophet Was Coming. "Listen to Him."

"The L-RD your G-d will raise up for you a prophet like me... You must listen to him."

Deuteronomy 18:15

Moses, the greatest prophet in Israel's history, said someone greater was coming.

Someone who would speak G-d's words with divine authority.

Someone the people must listen to.

Who could that be?

Not Just Any Prophet

There were lots of prophets after Moses. Elijah. Isaiah. Jeremiah.

But none of them fit the description "like Moses."

Moses:

  • Spoke face-to-face with G-d
  • Led Israel out of bondage
  • Mediated a covenant
  • Performed signs and wonders
  • Interceded for the people

Only one person matches that resume: Yeshua.

Yeshua Did What Moses Did, But Greater

Moses delivered Israel from Egypt. Yeshua delivers people from sin.

Moses gave the Law. Yeshua fulfilled it.

Moses mediated the old covenant. Yeshua established the new one.

Moses spoke for G-d. Yeshua is the Word of G-d.

The parallels aren't coincidence. They're fulfillment.

G-d Said, "Listen to Him"

At Yeshua's transfiguration, a voice from heaven said:

"This is My Son, whom I love. Listen to Him!" (Mark 9:7)

The same command G-d gave in Deuteronomy 18.

G-d was pointing to Yeshua as the prophet Moses foretold.

So Will You Listen?

Moses said he was coming.

Yeshua came.

The question is: Will you listen to Him?
